Rent a car from Lofoten Car Hire AS
Lofoten Car Hire AS is a car rental company based at Leknes Airport in Lofoten, with car delivery also available at Evenes Airport. Its rental station provides easy access to the Lofoten landscape, and cars can be collected and delivered at fixed locations in Leknes, Moskenes, Svolvær and Evenes by appointment.
The fleet ranges from small standard cars to SUVs and spacious eight-seater vehicles, suitable for couples, families and groups. Delivery to a specific address is available for a fee, and if a car develops a problem within Lofoten, Harstad or Tromsø, the customer receives a replacement car or other assistance to continue the journey.

Over 7 days: full refund minus 500 NOK; 48h-7d: 1 day or 30%, min 500; under 48h: 100%.
Cancellation more than 7 days before start: full refund minus a 500 NOK administration fee. 48 hours to 7 days: one rental day or 30% of the total, whichever is higher, minimum 500 NOK. Less than 48 hours or no-show: 100% of the rental amount.
Driving outside Norway only with prior written consent.
The vehicle must not be driven outside Norway without the lessor prior written consent.
Minimum age 18; valid driving licence.
The driver must be at least 18 and hold a valid driving licence that is valid in Norway. Only approved drivers named in the booking may drive.
Full tank at pickup and return; missing fuel 500 NOK + fuel cost.
Vehicles are delivered with a full tank and must be returned full. Missing fuel is charged at the actual fuel cost plus a 500 NOK fee.
Standard excess 10,000 NOK; full insurance 750 NOK/day reduces the excess.
The vehicle is insured with a standard excess of 10,000 NOK. Full insurance at 750 NOK per day reduces the excess but excludes gross negligence, wrong fuel, keys, smoking/interior damage, driving outside the permitted area, and tyre/wheel/glass damage.
Late return: 0-15 min 500 NOK; 15-60 min 1,500 NOK; over 60 min two extra days.
Late return is charged 500 NOK for 0-15 minutes, 1,500 NOK for 15-60 minutes, and two additional rental days for more than 60 minutes. After 24 hours the charge is four days, after 48 hours six days, then two days per commenced 24 hours.
Unlimited mileage.
The rental includes unlimited mileage with no kilometre restriction.
Visa or Mastercard via DIBS at booking.
Payment is made online by Visa or Mastercard through DIBS at the time of booking.
Return at the agreed time; late-return fees apply.
The return time is the absolute end of the rental. Late-return fees are listed in the Late Arrival policy; the renter remains responsible until the vehicle and key are returned and inspected.
Security deposit reserved at booking; amount stated in confirmation.
A security deposit is reserved on the payment card at booking. The amount varies by vehicle/product and is shown in the booking confirmation. It may be used for late return, damage, missing items or failure to return.
